Chicago Public Library – Uptown Branch

The library will open a bit more beginning July 6.  Public service hours will be 10:00 – 5:00 on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 12:00 – 7:00 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The book-drop is always open and we ask that you return all items there.  We’re still offering “grab and go” service.  If you call us, we’ll get your books and other items ready for you.  We’ll check them out and put them in a bag on the holds shelf.  You can pick them up and just zip out the door – no standing in line to check out.

To keep everyone safe, please remember to wear your mask when you come, please observe guidelines about distancing, and please try to limit your time in the building.

Also beginning July 6 and running through August 15 will be our Summer Learning Challenge for Children with the theme of “Building Stories,” and Summer Teen Challenge “Sound Off.”    We’re encouraging mostly online interactions, though you can stop in to pick up your packet of materials to get started.  Information will be available soon on www.chipublib.org/summer for kids and www.chipublib.org/soundoff for teens.  Call 312-744-8400 or email Children’s Librarian Laura Jenkins for more information.
