Due to the increased incidence of COVID-19, there will be some modifications in library hours and services.
Beginning Monday, November 30, public service hours at the Uptown Branch will be:
Mondays & Wednesdays 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Tuesdays & Thursdays 12:00 noon – 7:00 p.m.
Fridays & Saturdays 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
In addition, as of Monday, December 7, the library will implement remote screen sharing within CPL locations for patrons who need computer assistance in the library. This will allow staff to help while maintaining appropriate physical distance for everyone’s safety. There will also be expansion of “Ask a Librarian” chat reference services to patrons, which will include remote screen sharing for patrons at CPL locations or at home.
From December 1 through January 31, school-age children can take part in the Winter Learning Journey. The Learning Journey theme is games and puzzles (cozy mysteries, DIY games to do at home, etc.). Children can participate by picking up a paper log sheet in the library, or online at chipublib.org/LearningJourney. Grab and go kits to add to the fun should be available mid-December. Call 312-744-8400 and ask to speak to the children’s librarian for more information.
