2020-2021 BPN Strategic Plan

Over the next four weeks, Buena Park Neighbors will embark on a community-driven strategic planning process to identify the organization’s strategy for the year ahead. We want as many community members to be part of this process as possible, so please keep reading to learn more and reach out to Asher Mayerson at ashermayerson@gmail.com to get involved!

This process will culminate in a strategic plan that will be given to the next President of Buena Park Neighbors, who will be elected in September 2020. Asher Mayerson, a board member with Buena Park Neighbors, will facilitate the strategic planning process and will leverage his graduate school business education as well as his consulting experience at the Boston Consulting Group.

The first goal of the strategic planning process is to identify BPN’s strategy. In other words, what are the key goals that Buena Park Neighbors should be working towards, and what are the key values that Buena Park Neighbors should be standing for? This strategy will be identified through conversations with community leaders and Buena Park residents.

The second goal of the strategic planning process is to evaluate whether there are changes to BPN’s organizational structure that could help us better achieve our goals. For example, if providing an avenue for community service is an important goal of the organization, then should we have a board member specifically charged with focusing on community service?

We are excited to see where the strategic plan lands—but we need your help! To make your voice heard about what you think Buena Park Neighbors’ strategy should be, please reach out to Asher Mayerson at ashermayerson@gmail.com. And if you know of specific people or communities in Buena Park who haven’t been reached by BPN in the past, please feel free to put them in touch with Asher so that they can shape this process, too.
