August is a big event month for Buena Park Neighbors

“Captain Marvel” plays on Thurs., Aug. 1 at 8:00 p.m. at Buena Circle Park.  This recently released Marvel film was the first time that a woman superhero was featured as the lead.

On Thurs., Aug. 8 the soul group Bumpus performs at Buena Circle Park at 7:00 p.m. This Chicago group features its own powerful brand of soul music that channels the uplifting energy of Sly and the Family Stone with the energy of James Brown and reflective cool of Marvin Gaye.  Where else can you get that mix of sound?  Come on over for this fun night.

On Wed., Aug. 28, Pride Theater is the site for the movie Incredibles 2.  Another recently released film that features everyone’s favorite family of superheroes with Helen as the lead.  This film is the second highest grossing animated film of all time.

Concrete Roots will be the featured band at Buena Park Neighbors’ Concert in the Park on Sat., Sept. 7 beginning at 7:00 p.m. “The reggae sounds of Concrete Roots promises a wonderful night of music and fun to close out our summer offerings,” said Curt Wiley, Buena Park Neighbors President.

The Concrete Roots is a reggae band based in Chicago.. This group is composed of five musicians from various backgrounds that have a very deep respect for all sub-genres of reggae music and culture. Their eclectic sound combines roots-reggae-dub with soul and hip-hop. Since 2012 they have been playing live shows at traditional and unique venues throughout the Midwest. They released their debut album in July of 2016 and have developed a following across the nation.
