Buena Park Neighbors’ leaders have charted a very active 2019 with activities and events throughout Buena Park. The year began with a forum for all of the 46th Ward Alderman candidates in April that attracted a capacity crowd at the Uptown Library in January. That was followed by the Winter Community Meeting that featured the music of Elton John that was performed by Beazley Phillips.
We are now making plans for the rest of the year. In April we will co-sponsor the Second Buena Park Wine Tour with Uptown United that is tentatively scheduled for April 28. Last year this event had nearly 200 attendees who strolled Broadway Avenue visiting businesses and enjoying wine from vendors. On April 22 we will host our Spring Community Meeting at Imperial Tower. Thorek Hospital and several neighborhood businesses that specialize in health care will be at the event to provide information on their services.
Our summer activities will kick off with Clean and Green Day on May 4 when Buena Park volunteers will work at the entrance to The Peace Garden. All are welcome to pitch in. We will also host historic Hutchison Street architectural tours.
Our movies and concerts will once again feature a concert at Buena Circle Park by Long Tall Deb who was a great hit last simmer. She will be returning on June 23 for a concert. We will also have two movies in the park and one more concert.
Our ongoing efforts to provide the most up-to-date information on our neighborhood will continue with monthly newsletters and regular facebook postings to nearly 2,000. We are currently engaged in an effort to improve our website that will make our communication efforts even more effective.
If you are not a member yet, please join and enjoy all of these activities. You can do so here.
