Inaugural Good Neighbor Award Presented to Nick Georgelos

By Jessica Eanes

It is with great pride and gratitude that Buena Park Neighbors is bestowing the inaugural Good Neighbors Award on Nick Georgelos. He got his start as a business owner in the neighborhood with GNS Market on Broadway at Belle Plaine, and has been a generous and steadfast member of the community ever since. From putting out window boxes at the neighborhood staple, Michael’s Pizzeria, or opening a friendly spot for our neighbors to grab a quick sandwich at North Buena Deli, to helping Jessica and Sergio open Klein’s Bakery, Nick leaves a mark on the neighborhood that enriches daily life for everyone.  Nothing demonstrates that more clearly than his response to the Covid-19 crisis: He’s kept all his staff working and turned their efforts to feeding the frontline workers at Weiss and Thorek Hospitals.

A thoroughly great guy, an asset to the neighborhood and the community who lives here, and an exemplar of everything we aim to honor with the Good Neighbors Award – neighborliness and generosity in spirit – all that makes residing here “Good Living By the Lake.” Congratulations, Nick, and thank you for everything you do to make Buena Park the special community we love.
