It is with great pride and gratitude that Buena Park Neighbors is bestowing the inaugural Good Neighbors Award on Nick Georgelos. He got his start as a business owner in the neighborhood with GNS Market on Broadway at Belle Plaine, and has been a generous and steadfast member of the community ever since. From putting out window boxes at the neighborhood staple, Michael’s Pizzeria, or opening a friendly spot for our neighbors to grab a quick sandwich at North Buena Deli, to helping Jessica and Sergio open Klein’s Bakery, Nick leaves a mark on the neighborhood that enriches daily life for everyone. Nothing demonstrates that more clearly than his response to the Covid-19 crisis: He’s kept all his staff working and turned their efforts to feeding the frontline workers at Weiss and Thorek Hospitals.
A thoroughly great guy, an asset to the neighborhood and the community who lives here, and an exemplar of everything we aim to honor with the Good Neighbors Award – neighborliness and generosity in spirit – all that makes residing here “Good Living By the Lake.” Congratulations, Nick, and thank you for everything you do to make Buena Park the special community we love. Â
