Buena Park Neighbors Has Big Plans for 2019

On the heels of a very successful 2018 Buena Park Neighbors is planning for even more good things for Buena Park in 2019.  We will start with an Alderman Candidate Forum on Tues., Jan. 15, 6:00 p.m. at the Uptown Public Library and a Community Meeting featuring Elton John music by Beazley Phillips on Mon., Jan. 28, 7:00 p.m. at Pride Theatre.

Members of Buena Park Neighbors can take advantage of their membership every week with 10 percent discounts at Michaels Pizzeria on Mondays, The Reservoir on Tuesdays and Bar on Buena on Wednesdays.  We hope to add to this list in 2019 with discounts on auto repair, coffee drinks and even tattoos.

Buena Park Neighbors will host more outside events in 2019 with movies and concerts in Buena Circle Park and another location to be named soon.  These events attract a great group of people for a free night of entertainment with neighbors.  Don’t miss Long Tall Deb when she comes back this summer with her band.

Our Clean and Green Team will once again host work days at key locations in the neighborhood as they did in 2018 at the Disney School and the underpass at Buena and Lake Shore Drive.

We want to be the best information source on neighborhood activity.   We expect to surpass 2,000 Facebook followers in early 2,000 which connects us to a lot of neighbors who can benefit from timely news and events.  If you have not signed up, please do so and stay informed about happenings in our neighborhood.

We also plan to have a book club announcement in cooperation with our new neighbor, Haymarket Publishing.

Buena Park Neighbors Block Captains will continue to promote the organization and recruit new members.  They are the key to what we can accomplish in Buena Park.

So, stay tuned.  If you are not a member yet, please join.  It is the best deal in town at $20 for an individual and $30 for a family.  If you are  a member, commit to be active and attend a community meeting or movie or concert.  If you would like to do more, send me a note and we will get you involved.  We are fortunate to live in Buena Park: Good Living by the Lake.
