We are in need of porch/building courtyard hosts for our 2023 Buena Park PorchFest event. We currently only have a handful of hosts that have volunteered their porch or their building’s courtyard for a band to play at – as of right now, this is not enough to move forward with the event.
What is PorchFest?
PorchFest is an event that features local musicians performing on front porches or apartment building courtyards within our neighborhood boundaries throughout the afternoon. The event date will be: SUNDAY, MAY 21, 2023 FROM 1-6PM.
Buena Park residents volunteer their porches or building courtyards to host live music and neighbors can bring a chair or picnic blanket to enjoy the show. If you have a porch, stoop, or live in an apartment building with a courtyard within the perimeter of Buena Park and would like to volunteer as a host, please fill out the form below.
The host’s duties are as follows:
1. You need to be in attendance at your porch/courtyard during setup and while artists are performing on your porch/courtyard. Setup usually starts 30-45 minutes before set time depending on the type of artist performing on your porch (ie. acoustic or electric). Performances usually run for 45 minutes.
2. If you would like to have an electric musician/band perform on your porch/courtyard, they will need access to an outlet/extension/power strip either outside your porch/courtyard or inside your home/apartment building by the front door.
3. Inform your neighbors on your block of the date and time when there will be live music on your porch/courtyard so they are aware of the noise disturbance during that time.
4. If you would like to provide snacks or refreshments for any attendees that stop by, you may, but this is totally up to you and not at all expected. Last year some folks provided candy, popcorn, beverages, etc.
