Brennemann Update | June 2021

We made it to June! Lots of wonderful things we celebrated in May. For example, we hosted our 1st Annual Special Olympics event on Friday, May 21, 2021. It was so much fun!!! Our students in the Cluster Program did an outstanding job competing and our entire school rallied around them in support. It was a magical event at Brennemann that impacted us all.  Our primary teams are starting the ABC Count Down until the end of the school year and we thought we’d join the fun school-wide. There are 26 letters in the alphabet and there are 26 more days of school. We are finishing strong and we’re having lots of fun in the process! Thank you parents for your support.   Students can only miss 2 days between now and summer break and still make our goal of having 96% attendance in the 4th quarter! During the month of May, On THURSDAYS, all in-person students receive a surprise incentive for coming. For the past few Thursdays we’ve had popcorn Thursdays and some popsicles on Friday! It was a huge hit!!! Commit to getting your kiddos to school everyday, on time, for the full day!

Brennemann is a summer school site this summer! We will host summer school from July 5th-July 30th. We will also host special summer school sessions for our English Language Learner Students, our incoming pre-k students (2 weeks in August), and our incoming kindergarteners (4 weeks). Families received letters for eligible students. Sign-up for Kinder Kick-off was also shared with families. We’re looking forward to a fun summer with students!

Please let us know if you plan for your child to return to Brennemann next school year by completing this brief form. 5th & 8th graders are required to take the Illinois Science Assessment (ISA).  Remote students will be testing on Wednesday, May 26th and in person students will be testing on Monday (24th), Tuesday (25th), and Thursday (27th). Please read this letter for further details.
