Buena Park Neighbors hosted its first online community meeting on April 20. Although technical glitches caused the event to not be streamed live, over 700 people have now viewed the meeting online.
We were joined by newly elected State Senator Sara Feigenholtz, Alderman James Cappleman and Uptown United Executive Director Martin Sorge to talk about the state, city and area response to the Covid virus. Each had personal reflections and good advice for Buena Park Neighbors.
Curt Wiley, Buena Park Neighbors President, also appealed to the neighborhood to:
- Support Pride Theatre that has seen a sharp drop in revenue due to having to cancel productions of several plays; pridetheatre.com
- Wear masks as a good neighbor and evidence of commitment to maintaining effective social distancing; and
- Support Lakeview Pantry that has increased food distribution by over 150% in the past month. lakeviewpantry.org
Thanks to all who viewed the meeting. We will hold our regularly scheduled summer community meeting via streaming on Mon., July 13 at 7:00 p.m.
