Where is Buena Park?
Buena Park is located approximately 5 miles north of downtown Chicago. The official boundaries of Buena Park are Montrose Avenue to the north, Irving Park Road to the south, and east from Graceland Cemetery to Lake Michigan.
Buena Park is at the southernmost end of the Uptown community area of Chicago. Buena Park also borders on the Lakeview community area to the south and west.
How Do I Get to Buena Park?
- Public Transportation: Take the CTA Red Line to the Sheridan “L” stop. From the “L” stop, travel north on Sheridan or east on Irving Park to Broadway or Marine Drive. Buena Park is also served by a numerous CTA buses, including routes 36, 151, 80, and Lakeshore Drive express buses to downtown Chicago. To plan your trip to any address in Buena Park, visit Google Transit. Public transportation travel time from downtown Chicago is approximately 20 minutes via the Red Line and express buses.
- Biking and Walking: Buena Park is adjacent to Chicago’s 18-mile-long recreational Lakefront Trail, with convenient access via Irving Park Road (4000 N), Buena Avenue (4200 N), and Montrose Avenue (4400 N). A ride from Buena Park to downtown Chicago takes approximately 40 minutes along the Lakefront Trail.
- Driving From Downtown Chicago: Take Lake Shore Drive North to Irving Park Road. Travel west on Irving Park Road and head north on Marine Drive, Broadway or Sheridan. Driving time from downtown Chicago to Buena Park is approximately 10 minutes without traffic.
- Driving From the North and West: Take the Kennedy Expressway East, Exit at Irving Park Road. Travel east on Irving Park Road and head north on Sheridan, Broadway, or Marine Drive.
