CLEAN & GREEN A SUCCESS!
More than 40 volunteers braved the bad weather and participated in BPN’s annual Clean & Green Volunteer Neighborhood Spring Clean-up on Saturday, May 14.
Thanks to the tremendous turnout, we were able to clean up a great deal of the neighborhood, including the abandoned Kentuky Fried Chicken lot at Buena and Broadway, the empty Thorek lot at Sheridan and Irving Park, and the Peace Garden at Buena and Marine. After all the hard work was done, the group kicked back and enjoyed some well earned food and drinks at Bar on Buena.
BPN would like to thank:
- The BPN Block Captains for getting the word out
- The volunteers for all their hard work making Buena Park shine
- Don Nowotny, the 46th Ward’s Streets and Sanitation Superintendent, for supplying us with bags, rakes, shovels and brooms
- Bar on Buena, for generously giving all perticipants 25% off all food orders
- State Senate President John Cullerton, for donating the Cubs Tickets that were awarded as door prizes.
