More than 30 volunteers participated in BPN’s Clean & Green Volunteer Neighborhood Spring Clean-up on Saturday, May 22. Thanks to the good turnout, we were able to clean up a great deal of the neighborhood, including the abandoned Kentuky Fried Chicken lot at Buena and Broadway, which took the collective efforts of the entire group to tackle. After all the hard work was done, the group kicked back and enjoyed some well earned pizza and drinks.BPN would like to thank:
- The BPN Block Captains for getting the word out
- The volunteers for all their hard work making Buena Park shine
- Don Nowotny, the 46th Ward’s Streets and Sanitation Superintendent, for supplying us with bags, rakes, shovels and brooms
- Dollop Coffee, for donating our door prize — a $20 Dollop gift card
-
Standard Bank, for donating individual pocket-sized hand sanitizer dispensers — a true godsend after the KFC lot! - Michael’s Pizza, for providing the delicious pizza
Mark your calendars for our next Clean & Green Clean-up, which will be held on Saturday, September 25 from 10 am to noon.
